Martha Jones makes quilt with signatures from American politicians and presidents

A woman from Kansas (USA) has made an incredible patchwork signature quilt, with signatures from governors, representatives, senators, even a couple of presidents and vice presidents. At first she wanted to get signatures from every member of Congress but settled for as many as she could get.

She wrote letters to the politicians, each with a quilt block and a permanent marker to sign their names with. The first to be sent back was former President Bill Clinton! She received many more back, some even with notes written by the politicians, but said “I think for every 10 I sent, I probably got two back.”

What a great idea! I’m sure this quilt will become a family heirloom.
